I lost my job. Now I want to help people like me start again.
Like many people going through layoffs, I've been feeling uncertain about my future, financial stability, and what comes next.
For over a year, I've been building software platforms through my company, BONBON Innovations, to help businesses manage their operations, customers, bookings, and sales.
Recently, I've been asking myself a different question:
What if I could use what I've built to help people who are going through the same struggles as me?
Maybe someone wants to start a mobile car-washing business.
Maybe someone loves making coffee and dreams of starting a small coffee-catering business.
Maybe someone enjoys cooking and wants to start a sandwich or lunch-catering business.
Maybe someone loves animals and wants to start a pet care, dog-walking, or pet-sitting service.
Or maybe someone simply has an idea but doesn't know where to begin.
So many people have skills, creativity, and determination. What they often lack is access to the right tools, resources, and opportunities.
I want to help change that.
Introducing BONBON Restart ❤️
That's why I'm working toward launching BONBON Restart, a community initiative by BONBON Innovations.
The mission is simple:
Help people who have been laid off, are unemployed, or are struggling financially turn their skills and ideas into small businesses.
Through BONBON Restart, I'm working to make our business platforms, including BONBON Ops, DRIP, and BOONE Agent, accessible to people facing layoffs, unemployment, and financial hardship.
My goal is to offer a Free subscription plan ($0/month) that gives people essential tools to start and manage a small business.
Whether it's managing customers, scheduling appointments, organizing jobs, or handling orders, I want technology to make starting a business easier, not more expensive.
The initiative is still being developed, and I'm starting small. The Free offerings and participating platforms are not all ready yet, but I'd love to connect with people interested in joining as we build this together.
I also hope to build something beyond software: a community where people can share experiences, exchange ideas, learn from one another, and support each other through difficult times.
Because sometimes, having someone believe in your idea can make all the difference.
Powered by community, not just technology
Building and operating software comes with ongoing expenses.
Hosting, databases, email services, and other infrastructure all cost money.
My goal is to keep the essential software accessible through Free subscription plans, without requiring people who are already struggling financially to pay monthly software fees just to get started.
To help make this sustainable, I hope to accept voluntary donations from anyone who believes in this mission.
Those contributions would help cover infrastructure and operating costs so we can continue supporting people who need these tools.
Donations would always be optional.
Nobody should feel pressured to donate just because they need help.
My hope is that people who are in a position to contribute can help support those who are just getting started.
Maybe one day, someone who received help through BONBON Restart will be in a position to help someone else.
That's the kind of community I want to build.
Why this matters to me
I'm not doing this to get rich.
I'm doing this because I understand what it feels like to suddenly lose your job and wonder what you're going to do next.
The uncertainty. The financial pressure. The fear of not knowing what the future holds.
I'm going through some of those same challenges myself.
And I know I'm not the only one.
There are so many talented, hardworking people who have lost their jobs, not because they lack skills or determination, but because circumstances have changed.
I believe those people still have something valuable to offer.
Maybe their next opportunity won't come from another employer.
Maybe it will come from something they create themselves.
I don't have all the answers. I'm still figuring things out, just like many others.
But I want to use the technology I've spent so much time building to create something meaningful beyond just another software business.
Something that gives people hope, independence, and an opportunity to rebuild.
And I believe that even during difficult economic times, we can find ways to help one another.
Let's help each other start again
If you've been laid off or are struggling to find work but have dreamed of starting your own small business, I'd love to hear from you.
It doesn't matter whether you have a fully developed business idea or are just beginning to think about what's possible.
Maybe you want to start a mobile car wash, a small catering business, a cleaning service, or something completely different.
I'd love to hear your story, your ideas, and what kind of help you might need to get started.
And if you're a business owner, developer, designer, entrepreneur, or simply someone who believes in helping others, I'd love to connect with you too.
I want BONBON Restart to become a community where we help each other start over.
A place where people can share knowledge, learn new skills, encourage one another, and create opportunities together.
Because losing a job shouldn't mean losing hope for the future.
We may not be able to change the economy, but together, we can help change someone's future.
One person. One small business. One fresh start at a time.
❤️
