Understanding roles
BONBON uses a strict role hierarchy. Roles are stored in user_roles (separate from profiles) for security.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| platform_admin | Manage all businesses, verticals, help articles, AI templates |
| owner | Everything in their business — billing, settings, AI, ownership transfer |
| co_owner | Same as owner except delete business or transfer ownership |
| manager | Schedule, dispatch, customers, staff, invoices — no billing settings |
| staff | See & run their own jobs, check-in, add notes & photos |
| customer | Book, view their items (vehicles/pets/properties), pay invoices |
Switching role for a teammate: Settings → Staff → click row → Change role. Owners can demote co-owners; only the original owner can transfer ownership.
